Jay W. Pettegrew, M.D., CEO – Chairman and President – Dr. Pettegrew attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign from 1962 to 1965 where he was in the Chemistry Honors Program and completed his Senior Honors Thesis his junior year.  During that time he was elected a member of Phi Eta Sigma (Honors Scholastic) and Omega Beta Pi (Honors Premedical).  From 1965 to 1969 he was a medical student as well as a graduate student in Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, where he received his M.D. degree in 1969 and also the Borden Undergraduate Research Award.  From 1969 to 1971, Dr. Pettegrew was a Harriet Lane Program Pediatric Intern and Resident at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.  From 1971 to 1975 he was a National Institute of Neurological Disease and Stroke (NINDS) Special Fellow in Neurology in Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri.  Dr. Pettegrew then served two years in the United States Navy where he was a Staff Neurologist at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia and held the rank of LCDR, MC, USNR.  From 1977 to 1984, Dr. Pettegrew was an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical School, Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Pettegrew has been at the University of Pittsburgh since 1984 where he is a tenured Full Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry, Neurology, Bioengineering, and Behavioral and Community Health Sciences.  He is an internationally recognized expert in the area of neurochemistry/neurophysics and the development and application of magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in neuropsychiatric disorders.  He has extensive experience in the application of in vitro and in vivo MRSI/MRI methods to normal brain development and aging, Alzheimer’s disease, alcoholism, autism, major depressive disorders, and schizophrenia.  Dr. Pettegrew has over 300 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals related to his research.  Dr. Pettegrew is a member of sixteen national and international scientific societies including being elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (1987), The American Psychopathological Association, Inc., and the Royal Society of Medicine (England) 2000.  Dr. Pettegrew is a reviewer for seventeen international scientific journals and has been invited to give over 100 national and international lectures.  Dr. Pettegrew has been a recipient of continuous NIH research funding since 1989 and has been an extra-mural NIH grant reviewer since 1984.

Marilyn C. Pettegrew, CFO and Vice President – Mrs. Pettegrew has 21 years of experience in real estate; 3 years in management, and 18 years in Sales at Smythe-Cramer Realtors, Cleveland, Ohio which has merged with Howard Hanna Realtors of Pittsburgh, PA.  Marilyn has been a certified real estate appraiser since 1995.  Among her many awards are the Quality Service Award, Professional of the Year Award, and President’s Sales Club Award.  During her years in real estate, Marilyn sold over 35 million dollars in residential property and has been ranked in the top 5% of realtors nationwide.

Tom Sablyar, CTO– Tom joined PHFr with a vision that prevention through bioresearch can create possibilities and solutions to many of todays health problems.  Tom brings over 20 years of experience in the technology, banking, law, retail, finance, and product manufacturing industries.  He also provides market, publishing, and patent research with Jay Pettegrew, MD.  Research includes, but not limited to, bio technology, agriculture, medical software and devices.  Prior to joining Tom was a consultant for several Fortune 100 firms that were devoted to technology and telecom.  Tom has owned several companies and founded several startups including Linisi and media conglomerate New Media Group.  Tom is also co-founder in augmented reality’s  latest exciting hot company named 3D HoloGroup, in which also includes QR product CRM 3DHoloQR.  He also is president and vice-president of several non-profits and has the pleasure of serving as board member of two others companies.
